great teaser trailer
How i will create my piece/ what will i use….
I have chosen 4 books, that i will create visuals for, based on the blurb on the back of the book. I will use Modul8 to put the images/animation and text together. I will aslo use the trackers and make hotspots surrounding each book, so when the user hovers over a certain book the visuals will automatically play, i dont want to make the visuals too long as, i want them to act like a teaser trailer.
The idea so far….
As i have been developing this idea, i have been thinking of where my piece would be housed, i see it in either libraries or museums/galleries. My idea is that this installation would serve as a new way of getting interested in books. So instead of you reading the inside cover to get a taste of the book. The hook would be the visuals that appear when the book is selected with the tracker. I think we are a very visual nation, and films of the books are a much more common past time for people than reading them and i am guilty of this as-well. I think if people could be drawn into a book with moving visuals it would make it more likely for them to take it away and read it. I will be creating the visuals for this project, but I thought about it on a bigger scale, i believe it would enhance the idea, if guest artists/designers/filmmakers create the visuals. (eg; they would select there favorite book and create visuals that would entice the viewer to take the book away and read it.
Great ad, i hope it was done for real
the books i have chosen
Developed idea
after thinking further about my book reading installation idea, i have decided that the idea was too simple, so i have developed it. I will now use a series of books, that will be laid out on stands, i want to use the tracking system. My idea could be used in a library or public space, my idea is to create a new way for people to become engaged in a book so instead of reading the inside page, the user would roll the tracker over the chosen book, and a brief visual display will appear on the screen in front.
